What am I acknowledging when I sign the EEO Acknowledgement?

The EEO Acknowledgement is a confirmation that you have reviewed and understand your responsibilities as a people leader regarding equal employment opportunity requirements and expectations. Why are faculty leaders being asked to confirm compliance with EEO requirements and expectations?

It also reinforces the expectation that people leaders actively integrate these requirements and expectations into their daily work and management practices.

How does this document differ from the EEO Basics training required by SHIFT for faculty searches?

The EEO Basics training is a module in BuckeyeLearn that provides significantly more detail and practical examples demonstrating how EEO requirements and expectations are applied throughout the employment lifecycle. In contrast, this document highlights key EEO expectations and requirements at a high level and reinforces overarching compliance responsibilities.

Do I need to complete the EEO Basics training required by SHIFT training if I complete the EEO Requirements and Expectations?

Individuals must complete the required SHIFT EEO Basics training at least once. After completing the EEO Basics training, individuals may satisfy the requirement in subsequent years by completing the EEO Requirements and Expectations acknowledgment instead of retaking the training.

When are the EEO Requirements and Expectations updated?
