Students, employees required to take sexual misconduct prevention training

The safety and well-being of the university community is Ohio State’s top priority and a responsibility we all own. To advance this priority, every year Ohio State requires all employees and students to complete online training focused on recognizing, preventing and reporting sexual misconduct, and on assisting those who might have experienced sexual misconduct.

As an Ohio State employee, you have been assigned an easy-to-follow, interactive module called STEP UP Against Sexual Misconduct. You can find the course in your BuckeyeLearn transcript.

Merit-eligible employees who do not complete STEP UP training by April 24, 2026, will not be eligible for annual merit increases that take effect September 2026. Student employees, graduate associates and other employees who are not classified as merit-eligible may be subject to unit-specific consequences for non-completion. Bargaining unit employees should follow their applicable collective bargaining agreements.

If at any time you are unable to complete the training (for example, if the content brings up past trauma), instructions for an alternative format can be requested here. All such requests must be made prior to the deadline for completion. You can also email civilrightseducation@osu.edu with questions or concerns.

  • To access your module, log in to the BuckeyeLearn system at buckeyelearn.osu.edu with your Ohio State credentials.
  • Then select the “My Transcript” button on the BuckeyeLearn homepage and click the “Launch” button.

When you have completed a course, it will move to your completed transcript in BuckeyeLearn, which you can view by changing the “Active” button on the top of your transcript to “Completed.” If the course appears on your transcript with a status of “in progress” or “registered,” the training is not complete. Revisit and complete the module or contact civilrightseducation@osu.edu for assistance.

Visit Ohio State’s Title IX website to view FAQs, or email civilrightseducation@osu.edu for additional information. For technical assistance, contact the IT Service Desk at 614-688-4357 or through Self Service.

At Ohio State, there is no place for discrimination, harassment or sexual misconduct. Thank you for doing your part to promote a safe and caring university community.
